Summertime should be fun for the whole family. Make it a safe summer by following some of my recommended summer safety tips. If you are going on vacation, take the proper precautions:
-Notify a neighbor or local trusted family friend to keep an eye on your house.
-They can set out your garbage cans so it doesn't appear that you are away.
-Ask them to gather your mail and newspapers so they don't pile up - a sure giveaway that no one is home.
-Make sure that all of your doors and windows are locked - Don't forget the basement and garage doors too!
- Don't leave valuable items visible from outside - This is a tempting invitation for a burglar to help himself to your valuables.
- If you leave a car in the driveway, make sure you remove the garage door opener. All an intruder has to do is busy open your car window and he immediately has access to your home via the garage.
- FINALLY, be sure to set your home security system!
Keep your home safe while you are away on vacation or holiday. Enjoy the summer!
